Rona Fisher to Introduce New Hinged Bracelets at American Made Show in Washington DC

Philadelphia, PARona Fisher, of Rona Fisher Jewelry Design in Philadelphia, will introduce numerous new River Pebbles themed designs at the American Made Show in Washington, D.C., this month. Among these are two new bracelets featuring a hinged loop clasp incorporated into each design, uniting form and function.

The new bracelets are crafted in one of Fisher’s favorite combinations of metals: highly oxidized sterling with 18 karat gold. Both include her signature River Pebbles motif, along with open work—also seen in many of Fisher’s designs. Each bracelet—the Open Pond Bracelet and the Elongated Soft Square Pond Bracelet—has a hinged pond-shaped element on top that swings up for putting the bracelet on and down to lock into place over a hook finished with an 18k gold River Pebble.

The new bracelets embody Fisher’s design direction, which includes open work, mixed metals, the River Pebbles motif, and a rustic yet finished look that she describes as “organic with an urban edge.”

“I love the idea of integrating both actual movement and a sense movement in my work,” Fisher said. “Creating a hinged loop clasp for these two bracelets allowed for that—and putting a River Pebble on the hook is a finishing touch that adds balance to the design.” She added that her line is geared towards the casual yet sophisticated customer who shops at higher-end craft galleries and innovative retail jewelry stores.

The newly rebranded American Made Show is the nation’s largest wholesale marketplace bringing together American and Canadian artists, designers, and retailers. More than 700 artists exhibit handcrafted designs in hundreds of product categories to nearly 5,000 buyers. For more than 30 years, the show has promoted the best in American and Canadian designer-made products to the nation’s top galleries, boutiques, museum gift shops, Main Street stores, and specialty retailers. The event is produced by The Rosen Group, a Baltimore-based arts marketing, publishing, and advocacy firm. The Rosen Group also publishes NICHE Magazine, a well-known trade publication for independent retailers.

This year’s American Made Show will take place January 16–19, 2015, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., with a Jewelry Preview January 15 from 4–7 p.m. For more information about the American Made Show, visit www.AmericanMadeShow.com.
